And you'll notice that in traditional Seattle style, it rained for the first day of school. (You've got to set the standards, right?)
And finally, Isaac lining up...
And finally, Isaac lining up...

There are a few finishing touches to be done, but I'm sure you get the general idea.

She is a very old dog, and appears to be blind. We walked around our neighbourhood and could not find an owner, and we took her to our vet to see if she was microchipped. No luck. So we've aquired a temporary visitor. I've stressed to the kids that she's only visiting and they seem content with that. Hopefully someone will claim her soon.

It's quite obviously which one is Cleo (our cat). Lizzy is next, in the red. I'm the leggy one on the right. And yes - she's already recognised the fact that she has a hairy daddy.

It goes like this...
"Out in the wild, what can you be? Can you copy these creatures? Are you ready? Let's see. Can you cuddle like a koala, holding on tight? Can you creep like a mouse in the pale moonlight? .... Can you wink like an owl, hiding in the leaves?" and so on.
Lizzy's version went like this...
"Can you do all these things? Can you hug mummy? (the koala...we usually cuddle for this page) Can you do that? (the mouse) It's the owl! Can you close one eye?"
It was very cute to see how a 3 year old translates a book into her own language.

And made snow angels...

Now you've all cooled down, you can send some heat our way.

She has been learning to write her name - and had written an "E" for Santa. It was her Christmas Letter.
