Ben is going to China in a few weeks time. As a result Lizzy has been taking interest in anything about China.
The other day she suddenly yells out to us "This is made in China!". Ben & I smile at each other - what a little smarty we have, being able to read the label. However, we both laughed when a few minutes later she exclaims "Everything is made in China!" How true. Isn't it ironic when a 4 year old makes such a profound statement about our buying habits. Maybe we need to start looking harder for presents that are made in the USA.

Jesse went through that stage a year or so ago!!! He'd look at every label in dispair - "This one's made in China as well" and exclaim in surprise if he actually found something made somewhere else!! Interestingly, the "Grey's Anatomy" cap mum and dad brought back for me from a tourist shop in Seatle was made in Bangladesh!!!! Lizzy (like Jesse before her) are starting to discover the ironies of life... Mel
Here's a conversation from our house this morning. Beth, Luke and Jesse were playing with a farm set Em and Maddy gave Lij for his birthday. There was some discussion for a while about whether the Billy goat was the mum or the dad goat and then the small print on the goats tummy catches Jesse's eye I here him say with a sigh "Made in China - well that's not surprising"!!!! - Mel
